Boondhi laddoo, also called as the Mithai laddoo(e

Boondhi laddoo, also called as the Mithai laddoo(especially in Mlore) is perhaps my most favourite Indian sweet of all time!! The hubs and I tried making it several times in Mumbai and finally got it right after the 4th attempt after coming to Dubai. Thankfully for us we had a lot of 'testers', otherwise can you imagine eating laddoos week after week? Nothing beats the taste of freshly made laddoos no? They are warm, soft & delicious and they just melt in your mouth. I love those that have that lovely mealy taste of roasted besan (Bengal gram flour), so here's presenting our tried & tested recipe with step by step instructions on how to get the boondi laddoos right in your first attempt!

As you know I am a lover of vegetarian food I try

As you know I am a lover of vegetarian food I try to set aside one day of the week for a pure veg meal (mera bas chale tho I would cook veg on all days 😀) so yesterday’ oota (meal) was something like this..
Rice, daliso saar (watery dal), soorn sukhe (yam sukka) and Panko encrusted mushroom cutlets! (You can use regular breadcrumbs too)

Ever since my aunt shared her idea of making mushroom cutlets to feed the little mushroom haters in my house, I love making them. To be honest, since the time my son started enjoying them he also realised that mushrooms weren’t so bad. These days my daughter is picky about them, so I tricked her into eating them anyway 😇😆

The only thing is that I did not give the cutlets time to rest in the fridge after shaping them so they were slightly soft but thankfully didn’t break while frying.

I must add that they taste great with anything - sandwiched between two slices of bread or crumbled and added to a wrap. You should totally try them!
