Fried Plantains

A traditional, delicious and healthy snack for people of all ages. Tastes best when very ripe bananas are used

Ingredients

  • 2 very ripe plantains (nendra baley)
  • 1 tablespoon ghee for frying
  • caster or fine sugar for garnish

Instructions

  • Peel the plantains and cut them in half, then cut each half into thin slices (lengthwise)
  • Heat ghee in a frying pan/skillet and shallow fry the plantain slices on a medium heat till golden brown on both sides. Drain the excess ghee and transfer them to a serving plate
  • Sprinkle caster sugar and serve immediately
