A traditional, delicious and healthy snack for people of all ages. Tastes best when very ripe bananas are used

  • 2 very ripe plantains (nendra baley)
  • 1 tablespoon ghee for frying
  • caster or fine sugar for garnish
  1. Peel the plantains and cut them in half, then cut each half into thin slices (lengthwise)

  2. Heat ghee in a frying pan/skillet and shallow fry the plantain slices on a medium heat till golden brown on both sides. Drain the excess ghee and transfer them to a serving plate
  3. Sprinkle caster sugar and serve immediately
